Fair Lending and Consumer Complaint Topics

FDIC examination staff will share their fair lending expertise, including discussing elements of a strong fair lending program, how the Fair Lending Scope and Conclusion Memorandum is used in the examination process, and how to manage fair lending risks related to dealer lending.  Next, staff will provide a brief overview of the FDIC Consumer Response Center’s complaint-handling process, discuss the role of complaints in the examination process, and share some compliance management system best practices.  

The 45-minute presentation will be followed by a 45-minute question and answer session.  To ensure participant questions are addressed, participants will have the opportunity to email their questions in advance to  Questions may also be submitted during the live broadcast.


Who Should Attend
San Francisco Region Supervised Banks: We encourage bank presidents, chief executive officers, chief risk officers, chief operating officers, general counsels, compliance officers, and internal auditors to attend.


Registration Information
Please complete the online registration form to reserve a place and receive the teleconference phone number and pass codes.  The teleconference is open to FDIC-supervised institutions in the San Francisco Region.  Participants may call in from any location and are not required to be onsite at their institution.  If you have any problems registering, please send an email to and include your name, title, and bank name/location.

To allow sufficient time for all participants to be connected, we appreciate your efforts to call at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the teleconference, if possible.
