The Development and Launch of a New Banking Product: A UDAP Primer

FDIC examination staff will discuss the application of UDAP principles to the development and launch of a new banking product, including: a brief overview of the basic tenants of UDAP, issues specific to the introduction of a new product or service, the development phase, ad substantiation, managing third-party relationships, disclosure adequacy, and best practices for ensuring new products and offerings are fully compliant with all consumer protection regulations.
The 45-minute presentation will be followed by a 45-minute question and answer session. To ensure participant questions are addressed, participants will have the opportunity to email their questions in advance to SFConsumerProtection@fdic.gov. Questions may also be submitted during the live broadcast.

San Francisco Region Supervised Banks: We encourage bank presidents, chief executive officers, chief risk officers, chief operating officers, general counsels, compliance officers, and marketing personnel to attend.
