San Francisco Region Bankers' Forum:
Teleconference on Risk Management - Stress Testing and Model Governance
Tuesday, August 6, 2013
11:00 AM - 12:15 PM Pacific
On August 6, 2013, the FDIC’s San Francisco Regional Office will host a teleconference on Risk Management - Stress Testing and Model Governance. Stress testing enhances the ability to understand risks and the potential impact of stressful events and circumstances on a bank’s financial condition. FDIC examination staff will discuss the merits of stress testing as a useful component of risk management and strategic planning, with emphasis on expectations for liquidity and interest rate risk management, credit portfolio risk management-including for commercial real-estate and sub-prime lending concentrations, and capital planning at mid-sized organizations (greater than $10 Billion in total assets). Given the increasing importance of financial modeling, examination staff will also cover expectations for an effective model risk governance framework.
The 45-minute presentation will be followed by a 30-minute question and answer session. To ensure participant questions are addressed, participants will have the opportunity to email their questions in advance to FDICSanFrancisco@FDIC.gov. Questions may also be submitted during the live broadcast.
Who Should Attend San Francisco Region Supervised Banks: We encourage chief executive officers, presidents, chief risk officers, chief operating officers, chief financial officers, and internal auditors to attend.
