On April 6, 2016, FDIC Chairman Martin J. Gruenberg and Vice Chairman Thomas M. Hoenig hosted an engaging dialogue on key community banking issues. As part of the FDIC's Community Banking Initiative, this conference explored strategies for long-term success in the community banking sector.

This event was a unique opportunity to hear from, and interact with, community bank CEOs from around the country as well as researchers, regulators, and other thought leaders. The discussion focused on successful community bank business models, key regulatory developments, opportunities and challenges in managing technology, and ownership structure and succession planning.
