FDIC Chicago Region Regulatory Conference Call

The FDIC Chicago Region will be hosting the first session of its 2014 Regional Regulatory Conference Call series on Thursday, April 24 at 10:00 a.m. (Central Time).  Members of your Board and staff are invited to participate in this one-hour call.

Our topic for the teleconference will be "Investment Securities – New Rules for Assessing Credit Risk."

This one hour session will discuss regulatory expectations for bank due diligence both pre- and post-purchase on investment securities.  It will highlight important provisions of Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) regulatory guidance issued in 2012 that removes references to credit ratings in regulations pertaining to investment securities, as well as the interagency Uniform Agreement on the Classification and Appraisal of Securities Held by Depository Institutions issued in 2013.

The teleconference is designed to assist banks in determining whether they have developed and implemented appropriate procedures to ensure compliance by discussing:

Our speakers will provide their unique insights from an examination perspective.  Assistant Regional Director Daniel Marcotte will provide opening remarks and preside over the teleconference.  The presentation will conclude with a question and answer session.

The teleconference is primarily open to FDIC supervised institutions in the Chicago Region. Bank directors, officers, and staff members are welcome to attend.  Participants may call in from any location and are not required to be onsite at their institutions.  To register for the teleconference, please follow the registration instructions below.
