FDIC Atlanta Region Regulatory Conference Call:
Emerging Issues Related to State, County, and Municipal Securities Revised Troubled Debt Restructuring Guidelines

The FDIC's Atlanta Region will host a Regional Regulatory Conference Call on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 10:00 am (Eastern Time). This conference call will cover two topics:
Senior Capital Markets & Securities Specialist Kevin R. Lowery will discuss “Emerging Issues Related to State, County, and Municipal Securities.” The presentation will address information to be obtained and monitored, and policies to be in place, when purchasing and holding these securities. The presentation will also touch on the market outlook for these securities as a result of current market conditions.
Regional Accountants Edmund S. Pooler and Robert O. Warren will discuss “Revised Troubled Debt Restructuring Guidelines.” The presentation will cover the guidance in Accounting Standards Update (ASU) No. 2011-02 issued in April 2011. ASU 2011-02 clarifies which loan modifications constitute troubled debt restructurings.
The 90 minute call will include a question and answer session following each presentation. The call is open to banks located in the FDIC’s Atlanta Region (AL, FL, GA, NC, SC, VA, WV) and whose primary federal regulator is the FDIC. Bank directors, officers, and staff members are welcome to participate. Participants may call in from any location and are not required to be onsite at their institution.
