Appraisals and Evaluations

The FDIC Dallas Region will be hosting a Regulatory Conference Call on Wednesday, December 19, at 10:00 a.m. Central Time. Members of your Board and staff are invited to participate in this free one-hour call. The topic for this call will be “Appraisals and Evaluations.”

The presentation will focus on appraisal and evaluation requirements of Part 323.  FDIC staff will discuss appraisal and evaluation requirements for: new loans; renewals/refinancings/modifications; and purchase and sale of real estate, including property acquired through foreclosure or deed in-lieu.  The presentation will also address several topics which are particularly relevant in the current environment.  FDIC staff will address questions you may have that are related to this presentation.  Discussion topics will include:

  • Transactions requiring appraisals
  • Transactions requiring evaluations
  • Appraisal and evaluation requirements at renewal, refinance, or modification
  • Use of existing appraisals for subsequent transactions
  • Who can perform an evaluation

The one-hour teleconference will include a presentation and a question and answer session.
