The Building is located between West Jackson Street to the North, West Van Buren to the South, Chicago River to the East and Clinton Avenue to the West. You may enter the building from Jackson Street on the North side of the building where, the traffic flow is east bound one way or from Van Buren Street where the traffic flow is west bound one way.
Arrival Instructions: Once you arrive, please proceed to the Building Security Desk located at the center of the lobby. After Building Security checks your identification, you will be given a building visitor’s pass and directed to the South Elevator Lobby and the 17th floor. When you arrive on the 17th floor, proceed toward the double glass doors and to the FDIC Security Desk to sign-in where you will be given building access. FDIC Security will contact the Administrative Specialist to escort you to the Orientation site.
If you are unable to report on your assigned date, please contact the Human Resources Specialist identified in your offer letter. In case of inclement weather, please call the Office Status /Weather Hotline at (312) 382-6899 for operating status.
What to Bring with You
Please bring with you a voided check (for direct deposit), valid passport, OR a valid driver’s license AND birth certificate; or valid driver’s license AND social security card. Refer to the instructions of Form 1-9 Employment Eligibility Certification and choose one document from List A; OR one document from List B and List C.

What to Expect at Orientation – Typical Agenda
Welcome, Oath of Office, Employment Forms, In-Processing, Career Management, Benefits & Work life; Safety Forms, Distribution of Material, Computer Access and IT Security; Meet/Greet with Executive Staff and Administrative Staff, Organizational Structure, Training & Ethics, Organizational Chart, Time & Attendance, Travel and Examination Overview Review.

From O’Hare International Airport
Taxis and Shuttles
- Fares are based on traffic conditions, but an average fare from O'Hare to downtown Chicago is $30-40 (approx. 50 minutes. In rush hour).
- Cab companies participate in the Shared-Ride discount program wherein individual riders willing to share a cab to downtown pay a flat rate of $24 per person. Inform the driver if you wish to participate.
- Airport Express offers a transport between O’Hare and Downtown Hotels daily, 5am – 11:30pm (transit time 45 – 60 minutes); $28 one-way.
Trains
- Blue Line “El” trains operate between O’Hare and Downtown daily, 24 hrs./day (transit time: 40 – 45minutes).
- Departures every 2 – 12 minutes (12am-4am every 15 minutes).
From Midway Airport
Taxis and Shuttles
- Average fare from Midway Airport to downtown area is $35.
- Shared Ride discounts program is $15-$20.
- Airport Express Shuttles are located across from the Southwest Airlines Ticket counter and run daily 5:15 am – 10:30 pm (transit time 30 – 45 minutes); $25 one-way.
Trains
- Orange Line trains operate between Midway and Downtown Monday – Friday 4am -1:05am; Weekends and holidays 4:30am -1:05am (transit time 25 – 30 minutes); departures every 2 – 12 minutes.
- The Midway station is accessible from inside the airport through a covered walkway on level 2 of concourse A).

Follow I-94 E to W Jackson Blvd in Chicago
Take exit 51 F-G from I-94 E
Turn left onto W Jackson Blvd
From West
Get on I-88 E
Follow I-88 E and I-290 E to Chicago
Take the exit toward Canal St from I-290 E
Continue on S Canal St. Drive to W Jackson Blvd
From South
From I-57 Continue on I-57 N
Take I-94 Express W to Ruble St in Chicago
Take exit 52B from I-90 W/I-94 W
Take S Jefferson St to W Jackson Blvd
From West
Get on I-88 E
Follow I-88 E and I-290 E to Chicago.
Take the exit toward Canal St from I-290 E
Continue on S Canal St. Drive to W Jackson Blvd
Parking: Personal Vehicle parking is available for a fee at the Union Station Parking Facility which is located near the Regional Office building.
