Southeast Michigan Alliance for Economic Inclusion
The Southeast Michigan AEI is a coalition of over 90 financial institutions, community organizations, local and state government agencies, and other key community stakeholders focused on bringing unbanked and underbanked populations into the financial mainstream. The Southeast Michigan AEI serves a geographic territory comprised of four Michigan counties: Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, and Wayne.
The AEI’s three core areas of focus include: increasing access to mainstream financial products and services; building responsible credit; and expanding financial education programs including identifying alternative delivery channels.
The full AEI membership meets quarterly. Each member is invited to participate in one of the Expressions of Interest Groups that are aligned with one of the three core areas. Expressions of Interest Groups members meet as needed. These meetings promote continued member engagement through dialogue and planning between quarterly full membership meetings. Members can get involved with the AEI by attending the quarterly meeting or volunteering to serve on the Expressions of Interest Groups.
