Southeast Louisiana Alliance for Economic Inclusion
The Southeast Louisiana AEI has a mission to improve the economic inclusion of low- and moderate-income persons and communities, including the unbanked and underbanked. The Southeast Louisiana AEI sends communication to over 200 members and partners. Coverage consists of the New Orleans MSA, Hammond and Baton Rouge.
In late 2017 the AEI was re-energized with organizational meetings for Bankers and Community organizations. These meetings covered the economic inclusion opportunities on financial education, account access, credit repair and stability, affordable housing, and small business. A follow-up communication at the end of 2017 set the stage for a joint meeting of all interested partners in early 2018. Feedback from the first set of priorities included questions about the correct fit in these for job creation and living wages, along with a focus on the disability community.
Next steps for the Southeast Louisiana AEI includes structuring the coalition with committee and workgroup Chairs/Team Leads. Several partners have already shown an interest in leading these. FDIC Leadership in 2018 will be managed by the Regional and Area Managers.
