Milwaukee Alliance for Economic Inclusion
The Milwaukee AEI is a coalition of banks, credit unions, community organizations, local and state government agencies, and key community stakeholders focused on bringing unbanked and underbanked populations into the financial mainstream. With about 100 organizations, the AEI is concentrated in Wisconsin’s Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties. The AEI focuses on incorporating or improving access to a wide array of consumer facing credit, savings, asset building, and financial education programs and services. Members can get involved with the AEI by attending a quarterly meeting or volunteering to serve on committee.
Member meetings showcase tools and examine trends in the financial services industry. Speakers include voices of leaders from the financial service sector, academia and the nonprofit sector. These meetings increase awareness of the assortment of retail financial services or consumer facing strategies promising greater economic inclusion. Past meetings have focused on basic and low-cost checking and savings accounts and financial education.
