The FDIC to hold Commercial Real Estate Conference
“Fundamentals, Fintech, and the Future”
on November 6, 2019, in New York City

Event Overview

Many FDIC-insured institutions are active lenders in the commercial real estate (CRE) industry. FDIC-insured institutions hold more than $2 trillion in CRE loans, and holdings have increased in recent years. The continued ability of banks, regulators, and industry participants to effectively monitor and respond to important trends is one of the keys to successfully navigating today’s CRE landscape.

The CRE sector has experienced low vacancy rates, rising sale prices and rents, and significant construction in recent years. Other dynamics such as co-working space and fintech have emerged on the CRE scene.

The FDIC Commercial Real Estate Conference will facilitate discussions of market trends and risks with a diverse group of stakeholders, including regulators, bankers, analysts, academics, and industry participants. These discussions will help to inform the FDIC’s research and risk analysis publications. We invite you to join in the conversation.

Agenda

The conference will feature an address from FDIC Chairman Jelena McWilliams and three panel discussions that will explore the market outlook, fintech and CRE, and the lending environment (see Agenda).

The conference webcast is archived and available on-demand and conference slides are now availble to download.
