Paul E. Soto is a Senior Financial Economist at the FDIC Center for Financial Research in the Division of Insurance and Research. His research interests include empirical banking and financial intermediation, along with applications of natural language processing and machine learning techniques to financial economic questions. He received a Ph.D. and M.Res. from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, an M.S. in Economics from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, and a B.A. in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley.
