The Program

The FDIC Career Intern Program helps recruit and attract exceptional individuals into a variety of occupations.

The Program is for entry positions at the CG 5, 7 and 9 or other appropriate positions.

FDIC may use the program to recruit for such positions as:

  • Accountant
  • Banking Analyst
  • Bank Examiner
  • Compliance Examiner
  • Economist/Financial Economist
  • Financial Analyst
  • Human Resource Specialist
  • Information Technology
  • Resolution & Receivership Specialist

Individuals are appointed to a 2-year internship and, upon successful completion, may be eligible for permanent placement within an agency.

Every intern is provided with at least 2 years of formal training. Training is designed to introduce the intern to the professional, technical, administrative, and program management aspects of his/her position. During this development period, the intern may be expected to complete other program components.

Current Opportunities

When intern positions become available, qualification requirements, application forms, and procedures for the FDIC Career Intern Program are posted on the Careers at FDIC website under "Current Opportunities/Job Openings".
