On Friday, February 18, 2011, Habersham Bank was closed by the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance. The FDIC was named Receiver. SCBT, National Association (N.A.), Orangeburg, SC acquired all deposit accounts.
The FDIC as Receiver for Habersham Bank, Clarkesville, GA has taken all actions necessary to terminate the Receivership Estate. The Receiver published a legal notice of intent to terminate the receivership on November 2, 2016 and has made all dividend distributions required by law.
Effective February 1, 2018, the Receiver was discharged and the Receivership Estate was terminated and ceased existence as a legal entity.
