Comment on Financial Reform Implementation

October 3, 2010

I am an 18 year Appraiser. Was on the FHA list for 11 years, then for no reason all Licensed Appraisers were kicked off the list. As a Licensed Appraiser, I am supposed to do an appraisal on a property up to a loan amount of $1,000,000.
There are not any properties that FHA loans with a loan amount of $1,000,000.
I took an FHA test to get on the list in 1997. Passed all reviews by HUD for 11 years. Then was booted for no reason. Over 1/2 my income was cut. This must have been illegal to drop someone for no reason.
I believe that Licensed Appraisers that were on the FHA list should be put back immediately. We need to survive. I was a review appraiser, a supervisor appraiser and an FHA appraiser. All that was taken away due to banks controlling congress. Banks and Congress do not know what is best for Appraisers only whats good for the banks. Please put back the Licensed Appraisers on the FHA Appraiser list. Experience is what counts. Some Certified Appraisers went straight from Trainee to Certified in a couple years because they had a supervisor that helped them. We as experienced licensed Appraisers should be recognized and not dropped off listed for no reasoning.
Thank you!
