Subject: Community Reinvestment -- RIN 3064-AC50

To whom it may concern:

I am merely a citizen, but i think that should mean more than how the majority of society perceives that term. As a citizen in a free and democratic nation, it is our responsiblility to act towards social justice and to aid the oppressed. Our nation is in fact, based upon these ideals as seen in the Revolution, unfair taxing, lack of opportunities, etc. However, as a society, we are so caught up on our own personal independence, we have forgotten the responsibility that goes with that freedom.

We get so caught up in our ability to speak and choose freely that we become concerned only with our own choices and our own lives. I believe, as citizens it is our duty to stand up for those who cannot do so at the present time. Similarly, i believe businesses hold this responsibility. In many ways, they exploit (intentionally or unintentionally) needs and gain profit. Whether this should continue or not holds no concern for me because it seems to just be that way. However, with gained profit, the business/individual should and must be responsible on how that money is spent. With exploitation should come justification. It should be considered a privilege to be able to aid in whatever ways possible rather than a duty. However, with free choice, people have a choice to deny or accept that privilege. It cannot be controlled on the indiviual level. However, on the corporate level as money and policies are intertwined and exposed, I believe it is the duty of the government and busineses to do what is best for the community.

I believe the government can justly ordain how corporations, businesses, and banks should spend a portion of their profits toward giving back to the community. As a result and as a concerned citizen i nearly demand that the changes to the CRA should be rejected. Thank you for the opportunity to speak.
