Aloha from Oahu:
I oppose to the increase: no loans at a favorable interest rate on Oahu, then I see a bank with a public waiver notice, “waiver to the Community Reinvestment Act,” moving money out of the state of Hawaii to a more profitable development project by this bank.

Many little banks not servicing their communities, and moving monies into bigger and profitable projects are not what I call community reinvestment. To see a bank looking beyond its community for profitable investments are common, and to see a waiver allowing such a move is maddening. What is your meaning of “community”? a. Local community or b. world community. Do not answer. Why any bank wants to be accountable to its community and the Community Reinvestment Act when waivers can be had. Please do not consider the proposed rule. Community Reinvestment. 12 CFR Part 345.
