The Community Action Program for Madison County, Inc. has made a
difference in our rural county due to strengthening partnerships with
the banking industry because of the Community Reinvestment Act. Even
with the CRA it can be a challenge. Our agency assisted 284 low – income
families to realize home ownership since 1994 and could not have
achieved this outcome without the CRA motivating our lenders to
participate.
I strongly oppose the proposed rule changing the Community
Reinvestment Act regulations. The changes proposed will sabotage rural
communities and thwart the partnerships built that benefit our low and
moderate income families.
Please do not adopt this rule.
