Subject: Rural Reinvestment Act

As both a person raised and educated in rural America and a professional who studies rural life from a rural sociology perspective, I believe that the Rural Reinvestment Act provides a source of financial capital vital to the economic prosperity of rural areas. While there is, no doubt, some cost to banks to comply, there are gains for the business and non-profit sectors of local communities. Their enterprises provide payrolls and multiple economic benefits to those living and working in rural areas...and therefore to our nation.

I urge you to continue implementing the act as is.

Bonnie Braun
