Re:   Model Privacy Form

Dear Mr. Feldman:

We appreciate the opportunity to comment on this proposal to update the required privacy notice.

However, we at The First State Bank of Burlingame question the need to update the notice.  We do not share information, thus our current notice fits nicely on one page.  From our observations, most customers are bombarded with privacy notices from many sources and now pay little attention to any of them, including ours.  So, why should we spend the money to produce a two sheet notice, which most likely will not be read even with the new format.  We are quite happy with our current notice which we spent many hours and much time and money developing.

We do not favor a change in the privacy notice.  In theory the new format looks neat and orderly, but in the real world consumers will be discarding two sheets of paper rather than one.

Again, thank you for giving us the opportunity to comment on the proposal.

Sincerely,

Steven DeWitt
Executive Vice President and Cashier
