As the Executive Director of a rural economic development corporation
I wish to express my strong opposition to the proposed rule changing the
Community Reinvestment Act regulations. In my opinion this proposed
change, if enacted, will seriously undermine the economic development
efforts of rural communities. In many cases funds deposited with banks
are exported to urban areas that provide for greater returns.
Please, for the sake of rural communities, do not adopt this rule.
