Subject: Community Reinvestment -- RIN 3064-AC50
I am strongly opposed to the FDIC proposal that would allow banks
with
more than $250 million in assets to be treated as small banks under
the
Community Reinvestment Act. This proposal fails the test of non-partisan
public stewardship and fails the standard of responsible Republican
commitment to low-income communities in America. The impact on
low-income communities would be long-term reduction in banking services,
lending and investment. This would be a reason for low-income Americans
who are trying to become middle-income Americans to reject the policies
of the Bush Administration. This policy is not compassionate
convervatism! Where is the care for struggling working people?
