I oppose the FDIC's proposal to allow banks with assets above $250
million to be examined as small banks under the Community Reinvestment
Act. This policy would threaten to reduce lending, investments and
services in the low-income communities we serve in Maine. Currently CRA
dollars are an important piece of our efforts to preserve and create
affordable housing in this rural state.
