Subject: Community Reinvestment -- RIN 3064-AC50
"I oppose the FDIC's proposal to allow banks with assets above $250
million to be examined as small banks under the Community Reinvestment
Act. This policy would reduce lending, investments and services in
low-income communities."
In Hood River's rural resort area the cost of homes are skyrocking.
While the second home purchasers have no problem buying existing housing
stock it is pushing home prices up approximately 30% a year. The
families that work and live here have difficulty staying in the
community.
The motivation of fulfilling their CRA investment is sometimes the
only way we can produce affordable housing in our area. DO NOT INCREASE
THE LIMIT.
