Dear Mr. Feldman:
As an advocate for affordable housing and Housing Counselor for the
Roots of Mankind Corporation, I urge you to withdraw your proposed
changes to the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) regulations.
The proposal if approved will negate the services for which CRA
statute was intended, and thus not serve the people in need. It will
eliminate development lending, investing and services. Rural areas and
small business will be adversely affected. If the FDIC is sincere about
profitters of communities giving back, I suggest that banks and the
enforcement of the CRA remain intact with all provisions and monitored
more closely.
