Re: RIN 3064-AC50
Gentlemen Re RIN 3064-AC50:
I strongly oppose the proposed rule changing the Community Reinvestment
Act regulations. In my opinion, it will really undermine rural communities.
Please do not adopt this rule.
In fact, you should be finding ways to strendgthen the CRA to insure bank committment
to the communities they serve. Without CRA many banks would simply extract
the profits from a community and distribute them to their st\ockholders, with
little regard for the social fabric of the community.
Since they operate with a charter from the government, responsibility comes
with that charter. FDIC should insure that community needs are met, not just
by loans to those who are easy to loan to, but also to serve pther needs of
the community that will lead to a strengtehing of the community.
Again, please do not adopt the rule.
Sincerely,
Evan Barrett
