Subject: Community Reinvestment -- RIN 3064-AC50
As the Executive Director of the Northeast Oregon Economic Development
District, I oppose the FDIC's proposal to allow banks with assets
above
$250 million to be examined as small banks under the Community Reinvestment
Act. This policy would reduce lending, investments and services in
low-income and rural communities.
There are few banks that would be subject to the full CRA
exam. Reinvestment of funds in rural, low-income communities is essential
for the financial health of the country. Please do not make a change
to
the banking policies and regulations that would negatively impact
those
areas that need the support of our financial system.
Sincerely,
Lisa Dawson
