Subject: Community Reinvestment -- RIN 3064-AC50
Dear Sirs,
I live in eastern Idaho. We have many low-income communities where
incomes are less than 3/4 national average. We need all the help
we can get in this era of Bush tax cuts for the rich and resultant
underfunding of community programs for housing and other social
needs. CRA investment is important and very valuable.
I oppose the FDIC's proposal to allow banks with assets above $250
million to be examined as small banks under the Community Reinvestment
Act. This policy would reduce lending, investments and services
in low-income communities.
Sincerely,
Laurence P. Gebhardt, Ph.D., Captain US Navy (Retired)
