RE: RIN 3064-AC50
Dear Mr. Feldman,
As a former bank association executive for 24 years
I have seen the Community Reinvestment severely decline in importance
for the
last several years. I have seen banks disenfranchise the poor by
raising fees and cutting services that low-income people use. For
instance one Florida bank I know raised its money order fee from
60 cents to 5 dollars. When I asked why they said to clear up their
lobby. In other words they didn't want working or poor people in
their nice lobby.
I strongly oppose the proposed rule changes to the CRA regulations.
Those changes will have a negative impact on rural America and lead
to the ever increasing gap between rich in poor.
