FDIC Announces Meeting of Advisory Committee on Community Banking

WASHINGTON – The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) will host a meeting of its Advisory Committee on Community Banking at 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday, October 28, to discuss issues that have particular impact on community banks and the local communities they serve.

Committee members will discuss local banking conditions; proposed changes to the FDIC’s supervisory appeals process; the FDIC’s Rapid Prototyping Competition ; and a potential voluntary certification program to promote new technologies .  The agenda also includes updates on supervision matters, insurance and research issues, and the work of the Minority Depository Institutions Subcommittee. Established in 2009, the Advisory Committee on Community Banking shares input with the FDIC on a broad range of community bank policy and regulatory matters.  The Advisory Committee members represent a cross-section of community bankers from around the country.  Information about the Advisory Committee on Community Banking, including a list of its members, is available on the Committee’s webpage .
