The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has been informed by Shoreline Bank, Shoreline, Washington, that counterfeit cashier's checks are in circulation. The counterfeit instruments are drawn upon the bank and display the bank's routing number of 125108573. The authentic check has a micro-print signature line, a watermark, and a thermochromic icon. The absence of these features will indicate a counterfeit check. A copy of a genuine cashier's check (void) and a copy of a counterfeit check are attached for your review. Any information you have about this matter should be brought to the attention of: The First National Bank of Sonora, Sonora, Texas, has also reported to the FDIC that counterfeit cashier's checks are in circulation. The counterfeit checks display the bank's logo and routing number of 111313000. However, the counterfeit checks are printed on blue paper, while the authentic checks have a green background. A copy of a genuine cashier's check (void) and a copy of a counterfeit check are attached for your review.Mr. Dan Forgey Any information you have about this matter should be brought to the attention of: In addition, the FDIC has been informed by Heartland Community Bank, Franklin, Indiana, that 1,200 checks have been stolen and are in circulation. These instruments are part of a bulk order of misprints that were intended to be destroyed. The bank's routing number of 074914067 is displayed. The stolen checks clearly display "Loan Proceeds" at the top of the check, but are not printed on security paper. A stop payment has been placed on the entire order of checks, which number from 100001 through 105500.
