The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has learned that counterfeit money orders issued by Peoples State Bank of Munising, Munising, Michigan, are currently in circulation. The counterfeit items appear to be copies of a genuine bank instrument and bear the routing number 091103181. The counterfeit money orders have a watermark, but were not printed with MICR ink. Attached for your review is an example of a genuine bank money order (cancelled). Any information you have about this matter should be brought to the attention of: Counterfeit cashier's checks titled Countrywide Bank, a Division of Treasury Bank, N.A, Alexandria, Virginia, and drawn on Treasury Bank, N.A., Alexandria, Virginia, also are in circulation. The items bear the routing number 056009110 and appear to also be copies of a genuine bank instrument. When one of this bank's genuine cashier's checks is photocopied, the word "VOID" will appear twice across the middle of the instrument. Attached for your information is an example of a genuine check (void).
