The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) would like to remind institutions that Calendar Year 2000 (CY2000) Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data is due by March 1, 2001. Getting Help We have again contracted with the Federal Reserve Board (FRB) in Washington, DC, to collect and process CY2000 HMDA data from those FDIC-supervised institutions that have a HMDA-reporting obligation. The FRB staff will assist you with questions about completing your HMDA report. The HMDA Assistance Line at the FRB is (202) 452-2016. If you leave a taped message, your call should be returned within two business days. Questions also may be sent via the Internet to HMDADHELP@FRB.GOV, or you may call your FDIC regional office of the Division of Compliance and Consumer Affairs for assistance (see attached regional office listing). Submitting Data The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) HMDA software exports data only on to 3.5 inch diskettes. Please make a copy of each diskette and submit the original to the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC, by March 1, 2001. Label each diskette with the following information:
Mail HMDA diskettes to:
Attention: FDIC HMDA Processing Unit 1709 New York Avenue, NW, 5th Floor Washington, DC 20006 Internet Transmission You may submit your report electronically to HMDASUB@FRB.GOV. You will receive confirmation of receipt of your electronically transmitted records within 48 hours. Retain the confirmation until your disclosure statement is received and its accuracy is confirmed. Also retain a signed copy of the transmittal sheet in your records. Late HMDA Filings We encourage you to file your data timely and accurately. A failure to report complete and accurate HMDA data by March 1, 2001, may subject your institution to civil money penalties and/or other administrative sanctions prescribed in Section 305 of the HMDA statute. CY2001 Reporting Because there are no significant changes in HMDA reporting for CY2001, the FFIEC will not publish a 2001 edition of A Guide to HMDA Reporting - Getting it Right! The 1998 edition will remain in effect.
