Proposed Revisions to Regulation C
|
The Federal Reserve Board (FRB) has issued for public comment the attached proposed
revisions to its Regulation C, Home Mortgage Disclosure. Comments on the proposal are due by
February 25, 1997.
The proposed revisions would implement the amendments to the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act
included in the Economic Growth and Regulatory Paperwork Reduction Act of 1996. The
amendments increase the exemption threshold for depository institutions from $10 million or less
to $28 million or less, and modify certain disclosure requirements. The FRB also proposes to
make technical amendments to the transmittal sheet accompanying the loan/application register.
The FDIC encourages all interested parties to review the attached proposal. Written comments
should be mailed to William W. Wiles, Secretary, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve
System, 20th Street and Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20551.
