SUBJECT: Counterfeit Cashier's Checks
Summary: Counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the name Greer State Bank, Greer, South Carolina, are reportedly in circulation.

Greer State Bank, Greer, South Carolina, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the routing number 053202062, which is assigned to Greer State Bank. They also display a security feature statement along the bottom border between two padlock icons. A toll-free telephone number, which is not associated with the bank, is displayed in the lower-left corner.

Authentic cashier's checks display the bank's address to the right of the logo in the top-left corner and "VOID OVER $ 1.00" in the bottom center.

Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
