Each depositor insured to at least $250,000 per insured bank

First National Bank, Cloverdale, Indiana, has reported to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the proper routing number of 074907126; however, the counterfeit instruments are markedly dissimilar to authentic bank checks. Authentic cashier's checks are printed on a light blue weave background with a darker blue border design. Counterfeit items are printed on a light pink paper with a mountain scene in the background. Authentic cashier's checks contain the bank logo in the top left corner of the check. Counterfeit items display the bank name in the upper left corner but with no bank logo. Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic instrument (VOID) are attached for your review.
