SUBJECT: Counterfeit Official Checks
Summary: Counterfeit checks drawn on Windsor Locks Community Bank, FSL, Windsor Locks, Connecticut, and The State Bank, Fenton, Michigan, are in circulation.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation has been informed by Windsor Locks Community Bank, FSL, Windsor Locks, Connecticut, that counterfeit cashier's checks are in circulation. These instruments are drawn upon the bank and display the bank's routing number of 211170172. However, the counterfeit items do not resemble the bank's genuine cashier's checks, as the layout, style, and fonts are different. A copy of a genuine cashier's check (void) and a counterfeit check are attached for your review.

In addition, The State Bank, Fenton, Michigan, has reported that counterfeit cashier's checks are in circulation. The counterfeit instruments appear to be altered copies of an authentic check; however, the bank's phone number has been removed from the counterfeit items. A copy of a genuine cashier's check (void) and a copy of a counterfeit check are attached for your review.
