Reaching the Unbanked and Underserved Across Milwaukee
Wednesday, January 19, 2011
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Wisconsin Women's Business Initiative Corporation, Alliance for Economic Inclusion (AEI) partners and other supporters will host a launch event to announce the formation of the Milwaukee AEI on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Milwaukee City Hall Rotunda, 200 East Wells Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The AEI is the FDIC's national initiative to establish broad-based coalitions of financial institutions, community-based organizations and other partners in several markets across the country to bring all unbanked and underserved populations into the financial mainstream.
The focus of the Milwaukee AEI is to expand basic retail financial services for underserved residents throughout Milwaukee, including savings accounts, affordable remittance products, small-dollar loan programs, targeted financial education programs, alternative delivery channels and other asset-building programs.
