Financial Institution Employee's Guide to Deposit Insurance

On October 3, 2008, FDIC deposit insurance temporarily increased from $100,000 to $250,000 per depositor through December 31, 2009.

The FDIC has simplified its rules for insurance coverage of revocable trust deposits, effective September 26, 2008.

The new rules provide at least the same coverage as the former rules. To view the new rules, go to http://www.fdic.gov/regulations/laws/federal/2008/08sep26rule.html.

FDIC currently is updating all Deposit Insurance products to reflect the new coverage rules. Deposit Insurance specialists are available at 1-877-275-3342 to answer any questions.
