Failed Bank Information for Carolina Federal Savings Bank, Charleston, SC

On Friday, June 8, 2012, Carolina Federal Savings Bank was closed by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The FDIC was named Receiver. Bank of North Carolina, Thomasville, NC acquired all deposit accounts, including brokered deposits.

The FDIC as Receiver for Carolina Federal Savings Bank, Charleston, SC has taken all actions necessary to terminate the Receivership Estate. The Receiver published a legal notice of intent to terminate the receivership on May 22, 2023 and has made all dividend distributions required by law.

Effective December 1, 2023, the Receiver was discharged and the Receivership Estate was terminated and ceased existence as a legal entity.
